If rumours are to be believed, Rakhi and Elesh have called off their relationship, but sources from the production house say that there is a twist in the story.
Apparently, Rakhi and Elesh were caught on camera getting cosy and intimate during the shoot of NDTV Imagine’s reality show Pati Patni Aur Woh. During the shoot, Rakhi was made to wear an empathy belly to have a first-hand experience of pregnancy. She felt the effects of pregnancy like morning sickness, swelling of feet, backache, etc, but she was touched by the concern Elesh showed. He took good care of her and ensured that she was comfortable. Elesh earned brownie points from her, by doing the household chores to ease her burden. Within a few hours they let their emotions get the better of them.
The couple forgot that they were being watched and were caught on camera in a liplock. To find out more about the couple, tune in to Pati Patni Aur Woh, on NDTV Imagine.

Why would I wear a burqa?: Ayesha Takia Azmi

It was reported that Ayesha Takia, wife of restaurateur Farhan Azmi, wore a burqa while campaigning for her father-in-law Abu Asim Azmi. However, the actress is screaming herself hoarse saying that she never wore a burqa and will never wear one in her life.
Currently promoting her forthcoming film Wanted, Ayesha Takia clarifies the rumours: “I never wore a burqa. Why would I wear one? It’s very absurd that people think like this. It’s so ridiculous. I think some people spread rumours about me because there’s nothing else to talk about or maybe there’s not much I can do for people to talk about.”
Hailing from a multi-cultural background, Ayesha Takia also confesses to not having visited temples or doing pujas. “I don’t look down upon anything. But life for me isn’t about being Hindu or Muslim. So I wearing a burqa is an absurd story. I don’t look down upon anything. To each his own. If someone wishes to wear one, it’s great. But I wouldn’t!”
Ayesha loves the fact that Farhan’s family is very open-minded and everyone respects each other. “Farhan comes from a very liberal family. They are very graceful people,” said the actress. When asked if Ayesha has converted to Islam, she said, “No, I haven’t. I respect all religions, but don’t follow any particular one. I simply believe in God, nothing else matters.”

Freida Pinto, Dev Patel spend quality time together

Freida Pinto and her 'Slumdog Millionaire' co-star Dev Patel may not be very forthcoming when it comes to confirming their relationship status but the loved up couple has been spotted spending some quality time together.
The young stars, who shot to global fame following the success of the Mumbai-based potboiler, looked every inch in love as they were photographed leaving a Fashion's Night Out event at jewellery store Asprey in Bond Street, on Friday night.
They were all smiles as they emerged out of the jewellery store holding hand and Pinto was spotted carrying one of Asprey's famous purple bags, Daily Mail reported.
Pinto, 24, looked stunning in a one-shouldered purple mini-dress and black satin peep-toe heels, while Patel looked dapper in a black trousers suit.
The actors, who played star-crossed lovers in the slum saga of Danny Boyle, have reportedly been dating since falling for each other on the movie set last year, but have declined to discuss their relationship.

Bipasha is ‘Ravana’ Abhi’s wife

When Mani Ratnam started shooting for his Aishwarya Rai-Abhishek Bachchan starrer Raavana, everyone had been wondering if Abhishek’s real-life wife Aishwarya plays his wife in the film too. Soon news that Abhishek plays Raavana while Aishwarya plays Sita and Vikram plays her husband Rama in the film came to light. Mani had been looking for an actress who would be perfectly suited to play Ravana’s wife, Mandodari. The suspense is now over. Bipasha Basu has been signed on to play Mandodari, who was Ravana’s favourite wife.
A source from the industry says, “Bipasha immediately said yes to the role. She had agreed to do it a month ago but Mani Ratnam had given her strict instructions to not talk about it.”
“Bipasha’s costumes are ready. She is very happy with her look in the film. She is looking forward to joining the unit of Raavana,” adds our source.
Bipasha starts shooting for Raavana from mid-September. Confirming the same, a close friend of Bipasha says, “Bipasha not only has an item number in the film but also a full-fledged role, which can be termed as a special appearance. Right now, she is shooting for Priyadarashan’s film with Akshaye Khanna and Ajay Devgan. She will be shooting for 20 days for Raavana in which she has a 40-minute role.”
Earlier, Sushmita Sen was offered the role but she had turned it down for reasons best known to her. Buzz is, she didn’t want to do a film which stars her arch-rival Aishwarya.

Hrithik is in a wheelchair

In this, just as he had a visually impaired Rani Mukherji deliver an outstanding performance opposite Amitabh Bachchan at his impressive best in Black, Bhansali has Hrithik Roshan playing a wheelchair bound paraplegic opposite Aishwarya Bachchan.
Black was as much a box office success as it was critically acclaimed for the sheer boldness of its script and the depth of the relationship between a blind Rani and an alcoholic Bachchan. Hrithik has played a mentally challenged boy in papa Rakesh Roshan’s Koi Mil Gaya, but being physically handicapped on screen, will be his first experience. And, Ash and he make a hot couple anyway... remember Dhoom 2 and Jodhaa Akbar?

Kashmera makes Ranbir nervous
![]()
He kept messing up the scene and director Ayaan Mukerjee, had to call ‘cut’ several times before the young actor got the right expression. A source said, “The scene was passed after many retakes.”
“Ranbir plays an innocent guy and Kashmera plays a neighbour, who is very attracted to him and wants to seduce him. The scene in which Ranbir got very nervous had Kashmera wearing extremely low-waist pants. We don’t know why Ranbir was feeling awkward. Maybe it was because of Kashmera’s sexy siren image,” said a source from the unit.
While Ranbir remained unavailable for comment, Kashmera said, “I am a confident woman and I generally don’t get nervous. But this time I kept giggling like a schoolgirl. Ranbir is quite sexy in his own way. He has a nice boyish charm. He was uncomfortable but I think he was acting.”

After Ash, Vidya giggles

The actress while shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj’s Ishqiya, didn’t know that she was going to be bestowed by a new nick... Apparently, Vidya laughed so much on the sets that her co-star Arshad Warsi calls her ‘Giggles’.
“There’s a story behind this,” he told us, “Vidya laughs a lot and can’t control herself. She just goes on laughing like crazy. She doesn’t even need someone to crack a joke... she laughs JLT (just like that). Sometimes she used to crack up in the middle of a shot and then Naseerudin and I had to wait till she finished... Man, that’s some talent she has! So we call her Giggles.” Now, that’s pretty cute... right in the Piggy Chops nick category!

Amrita Rao talks about her hot makeover in ‘Short Kut’

Dressed in an olive off-shoulder tee and blue jeans, the svelte and petite Amrita Rao looks nothing like the sexy girl we see in the promos of Short Kut –The Con Is On. She is still very much the cute girl-next-door you’d like to take home to mom. But Amrita doesn’t buy that. “An actor is as good as the role,”she says in defence of her hot makeover. And what better role to shed inhibitions than that of an actress? As Mansi, she plays a girl who hails from a mediocre background and hits stardom. “As an actress, the role gave me an opportunity to explore different costumes,”she smiles, acknowledging Manish Malhotra for putting her in hot pants and singlets that has got her “amazing feedback from London-based fans for exploring a new side”.
Would she have dared to bare, say two years ago, when Vivah happened? “You can’t calculate these things, they just happen to you. This opportunity came to me now,” she says shortly. In fact, she had confessed that if she ever exposed on screen, it would be a la Bo Derek in a bikini, coming out of the water. “Did I say that?”she says surprised, and adds that she indeed has done a similar scene in Short Kut... . She is grateful to director Neeraj Vora for casting her in a role that is completely different from the ones she played so far. “Most of my roles have had streaks of a real girl from the real world. An actress, on the other hand, is perceived as larger than life and this role gives me that dimension,” she explains.

Deepika-Ranbir: Too much on phone
Apparently, there have been talks about the two talking for hours on the phone when they’re not together. Now, we know most lovebirds do that, but Deepika doesn’t take the ‘accusation’ too kindly. She says it mars her ‘professional image’.
“I am committed to my films once I sign them and I am professional when it comes to my work. Stories of me talking to Ranbir on the phone for hours together when we are not working together are not true. I don’t get distracted by Ranbir once I am on the sets of my film and vice versa. Both Ranbir and I are professionals and know our responsibilities,” said the miffed actor. But talking on the phone is a symbol of love aaj kal, Deeps.

Choosing a film is like getting married: Esha Deol

She may not have touched heights in the film industry but Esha Deol maintains that she has no regrets about doing the movies that did not click and has never felt on cloud nine when her films have become hits. Thus, she dismisses rumours that she is desperately seeking success through her next film 'Hijack'.
“Choosing a film is like getting married. You don’t anticipate that it will not work. I have seen a low phase but I have tasted success with 'Dus', 'No Entry', 'Yuva' and then there was 'Dhoom' that popularised me,” says Esha.
'Hijack' has Esha playing an airhostess in a flight that has been hijacked by terrorists. Her strong character meets an equally courageous Shiney Ahuja on this flight. So how was it working with the actor who was highly appreciated for his role in his latest film 'Life in a Metro'?
Working with Shiney was wonderful as he is fun to work with and a thorough professional, she says. Apart from 'Hijack', Esha is also working in 'Exchange Offer' opposite Rahul Bose. Doing one film at a time seems to be a conscious decision of the new league of actors, and Esha is no exception. “I want to do one film at a time because since I joined the industry, my outlook towards cinema has changed. I am developing interest in crossover cinema and off beat films,” she says.
She also shares that her mother will soon be reviving her production house HM creations and she will be a part of some of the films made under the banner. However, papa Dharmendra does not seem to be keen on casting her in the films he produces. His soon to be released 'Chamku' has Priyanka Chopra as the lead. “That is because he sees me as a daughter and not an actor. Even I will not want to work in his film,” she says.

I would love to woo Dimple Kapadia on-screen: Ranbir

Ranbir Kapoor, who is all set for his second release Bachna Ae Haseeno, says constant comparisons with his father Rishi Kapoor are inevitable, but feels that he won't be able to match up to his father's on-screen charisma.
"I know the audience seeks another Rishi Kapoor in me. But I can never be like him. He is such a spontaneous actor," Ranbir told IANS.
Interestingly, a hit song from his father's film Hum Kisise Kum Naheen inspires the title of his second film Bachna Ae Haseeno.
If given a chance to act in the remake of his father's super hit Bobby, Ranbir said he would love to romance Dimple Kapadia on screen.
"No one can play the role of Bobby like Dimple Kapadia did. She is still so beautiful and I would love to woo her on screen again if a remake is made," said the actor.I

Deepika tops Maxim Hot 100 girls list

Bollywood's new entrant Deepika Padukone, whose second film Bachna Ae Haseeno is due for release Aug 15, is considered the hot favourite actress by Indian audiences across the globe. She tops the popular Maxim Hot 100 girls worldwide list.
The Maxim Hot list makes its debut in India and the Om Shanti Om star, Deepika, is winner of the first edition.
"To be honest, personally I never thought of myself as 'sexy' or 'hot' but if that's the call that people have taken, then I hope I live up to it. I am so excited about this," Deepika said in a press statement.
She joins the likes of previous Bollywood celebrity-winners like Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor.
"Deepika was our choice as the winner because apart from her huge fan following with the new generation of Indians, she also has the potential to be an international face. This calls for a huge party," said Anup Kutty, editor of Maxim-India.
Deepika will be felicitated August end in Mumbai.

After winning accolades and awards for his role in Taare Zameen Par, young actor Darsheel Safary has become a favourite with children's brands.
After being roped in to promote Bournvita, the little actor is now busy shooting a television commercial for a brand of childrens wear. And he is one confident child.
Though Aamir Khan has been instrumental in Darsheel's rise to stardom, the boy has his priorities as to who will be his future co-stars all worked out.
"I would like to work with Hrithik Roshan because he looks good and dances well and Kareena Kapoor because she dances and acts well," says he.
Though Darsheel has been much sought after for brand endorsements, the question everyone is asking is when will he make another big screen appearance.

Shilpa Shetty

I was always an active kid. And pretty conscious about fitness from an early age. I remember I attended Yoga classes when I was in school itself. And used to intently watch Baba Ramdev's yoga techniques on television, and quietly try them out when no one was around.
During school days I also trained in Indian classical dance. I learned Bharat Natyam. In college it was more of working out at the gym. I used to do weights, but then got a back problem soon and was counseled to do yoga.
about three years ago I took professional personal training from Shri Shiv Kumar Mishra. And it did wonders for me. It helped me with my strength and flexibility. And also conditioned my back.
With the benefits it has brought me, I thought why not share the science with the world. And that's how the seed of coming out with a yoga DVD was born.

Genelia’s confession

“I am feeling fantastic! After Jaane Tu, people have rechristened me as Meeao or Aditi and that feels great. People recognize me as Aditi now! I am glad to know that the film has clicked with almost all kinds of audiences”, says Genelia who is busy basking in the glory of her film of late.
You have tasted success today in Hindi films but your initial films didn’t click! “Working in films was never my ultimate career option. I never expected much, also I took failures in my stride back then”, comes a prompt reply.
Talking about success, do friends make for great lovers in real life as shown in her now successful film Jaane Tu? “If you have a close friend there is bound to be that attraction” says Genelia. That definitely prompts us to ask if she has felt the same for ‘good friend’ Ritesh? “Ritesh is a good friend and all the talks about our marriage are nothing but baseless rumours”, says the young actress yet again denying her alleged linkup with Ritesh.
So what’s next for Genelia? “I have ‘Life Partner’ which is an Abbas Mustan production, an untitled film with Harman Baweja which has been directed by Anees Bazmee.
So after working with Imran, she is now working with arch rival Harman! “(Smiles) both are extremely spontaneous actors, are intense and extremely focussed on their work. They are quite similar!” concludes she, trying to be at her diplomatic best!

Esha's starry tantrums

Esha Deol apparently threw a fit on the sets of Kumar Mangat’s Money Hai To Honey Hai recently. Kyon?
Well, she didn’t like the outfits she was supposed to wear for a scene. They had been designed by Vikram Phadnis, who is the costume designer for the film. Esha refused to wear them, saying that she didn’t like them.
Says a source from the production house, who witnessed the whole thing, “Esha yelled at Vikram’s assistants and said that the costumes were not up to the mark. Later, she wore her own outfits for the shoot.”
Our source adds, “Such things happen. It’s no big deal. Anybody can have a problem with clothes. Esha is a dear friend of Mangat and Phadnis. So, I guess they must have ironed out their differences by now.”
When contacted, Esha denied that she had had a problem with Phadnis’ designs. She said, “I loved the clothes Vikram gave me. He takes a lot of care when it comes to designing. We did three fittings. In fact, I liked one outfit so much that I kept it for myself. Vikram is superb at his job and he is my buddy.”

Shilpa honoured by Britain

Racing driver Lewis Hamilton and Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty have been awarded Britain's Global Diversity award for 2008 for their contribution to the diversity agenda.
Shetty became famous in Britain last year after she was subjected to alleged bullying and racism in the television reality show "Celebrity Big Brother". Her treatment - by some other participants in the popular show - became the subject of a heated row in India.
However, she was universally praised by British commentators for showing restraint.
Hamilton was also subjected to racial abuse. On Feb 4 this year, he was racially abused by spectators during pre-season testing at the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain. The Federation Internationale de l'Automobile FIA) warned the Spanish authorities about such behaviour and announced it would launch a 'Race Against Racism' campaign.
The awards are to presented Tuesday night at an event to be attended by British Foreign Minister David Miliband MP and Culture Minister Andy Burnham among others.
The event is being hosted by the Next Steps Foundation, an organisation established 10 years ago by MPs Bernie Grant and Keith Vaz to encourage diversity in both the public and private sectors.
