molesting woman in mall by 3 NRI

Four youths were arrested by the Gurgaon Police early on Sunday morning for allegedly molesting a young woman in the basement of a reputed mall.

Police said the incident took place at around 5 am when the woman, accompanied by her husband and brother, was coming up the basement staircase. The woman alleged that the youths deliberately brushed against her as they made their way down.

The arrested four have been identified as Gurmeet Singh, Narpal Singh, Jaimeet Singh and Hari. Three are reportedly NRIs and are in the age group of 20 and 25 years. "All of them have been arrested on charges of molestation after an FIR was lodged by the complainant," said ACP (DLF) Sumit Kuhar.

Police said according to the FIR lodged by the victim’s husband, a resident of Kendriya Vihar, he and his wife along with his brother were coming out of the mall on early Sunday when the four accused deliberately touched his wife.

"Had they fled from the spot, it would have been a huge issue. We reacted first and caught them right there," said a police official. Sector-29 SHO Mohd Hussain said, "We received a call about 5 am and within minutes policemen reached the spot. The four have been sent to 14-days judicial custody."
