He has done a good job and good thinker:Dilip Vengsarkar

: There is no doubt Team India played like true champions at the Brabourne Stadium on Saturday to defeat another champion side, Australia, in their one-off Twenty20 match to become the toast of the nation.

Defeating the formidable Aussies was extraordinary and the boys played really well,” said chairman of selectors Dilip Vengsarkar, who kept a close watch on the tactics employed by MS Dhoni & Co. during the match.
Using the occasion, the former India skipper wanted to point out that had the Men in Blue shown similar spunk earlier at Nagpur, they would have levelled the one-day series against the Aussies, which the latter won 4-2.
“Still, coming back after four losses to perform so well was interesting,” he added.
But it was skipper Dhoni’s calm behaviour under pressure and the way he has handled things so far is what has impressed Vengsarkar the most. “He has done a good job, a very good thinker of the game and the best part is, he stays cool, which is a good sign.”
When asked to comment on left-arm spinner Murali Kartik’s inclusion during the series, which came as a surprise to many, Vengsarkar said: “I don’t want to comment on any particular player as every one in the team performed well. The way Gautam (Gambhir), Robin (Uthappa) batted and Harbhajan (Singh) bowled in final was good, it was a collective effort.”
