The Left is trying hard to garner supportfrom the Third Fromt

With the tussle over the Indo-US nuclear deal far from over and possibility of polls earlier than scheduled, fresh efforts are on to revive the Third Front.

The Left is trying hard to garner support from the Third Front.

CPM General Secretary Prakash Karat met Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh at his residence in Delhi on Tuesday to discuss their joint strategy in the prospect of a special session of Parliament being called on the nuclear deal issue.

Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and TDP President Chandrababu Naidu also attended the meeting.

Left leaders are likely to meet other constituents of the United National Progressive Alliance or the UNPA as the Third Front is called now.

The idea seems to be to bring parties opposed to the nuclear deal under one banner.

The Left has initiated the parleys after UPA members like RJD and NCP made a u turn.
