BJP send leader to find a solution to the emergent situation

New Delhi, November 17: As JD(S) put fresh conditions to the BJP for supporting B S Yeddyurappa-led government in Karnataka, the saffron party Saturday decided to send senior party leader Yashwant Sinha to Bangalore to find a solution to the emergent situation.

Sinha is expected to hold talks with JD(S) leaders who have insisted that the BJP sign a 'political Memorandum of Understanding' if it wants support to the nascent Yeddyurappa government. The JD(S) has set a Sunday deadline for the BJP to sign the MoU and has even called an emergency meeting of its Legislature Party in Bangalore.

The JD(S) insisted that the MoU would be a "guiding factor" for the smooth running of the coalition during the next 19 months. JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda had firmly communicated to the BJP leadership that it was mandatory to sign the MoU to ensure his party's support to Yeddyurappa-led government which has to seek a vote of confidence in the state assembly on Monday.

Gowda is understood to have been irked at BJP's stony silence on the issue of signing the MoU which now contains 21 demands instead of the 12 points as listed earlier.
