Exercising his franchise at Ahmedabad this morning, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi said BJP will romp to a ''historical victory'' in the state assembly elections.
Modi cast his vote at the Nav Chetna school in Ranip locality of the city.
A large number of BJP supporters and eager onlookers had gathered at Ranip to catch a glimpse of Modi on his arrival.
In the second phase of polling, 599 candidates will be fighting it out for the remaining 95 seats in the 182-seat strong Gujarat State Legislature.
Voting for the 87 assembly seats had concluded in the first phase of polling held on December 11.
Modi, after casting his vote, said, ''election is being fought by the people for the victory of the state. BJP will post a historic win here''.
Meanwhile, a section of the large crowd present to catch a glimpse of Modi chased away television cameramen who were present at the polling booth in Ranip.
However, nobody was injured in the incident which happened after Modi left the venue.
The crowd was apparently angry at the television crew for portraying Modi in bad light.
