Raj Thackeray justifies attacks by MNS

A defiant Raj Thackeray, at a press conference in Mumbai on Saturday, not only refused to soften his stand on North Indians, but has fully endorsed the attacks by his party activists calling them spontaneous outbursts.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief also directed his anger at the Hindi media and accused them of being bias. He even banned all non-Marathi journalists from his press conference.
Describing the Hindi journalists as bhaiyya scribes, Raj has accused them of singling him out and not behaving like journalists.

Raj said that the media had highlighted only his remarks and they did so in response to provocation by the Samajwadi party.

Making yet another reference to Amitabh Bachchan, Raj said North Indians don't want to develop their own states but only want to throw their weight around.

In a special article written by him in a Marathi daily, Raj said, ''Even if the whole world opposes my stand, my party and I will continue the struggle to protect Marathi culture and people and will trample the goondaism of UP and Bihar.''

The article titled Majhi bhumika, majha ladha (My stand, my struggle) said, ''I feel like asking the people of Maharashtra at this juncture that if I am voicing your true emotion, then why are you sitting on the fence. Come join me in this struggle.''

Raj wrote, ''If the Prime Minister can rake up the issue of ban on turbans for the Sikhs in France when the French President came to India, if Karunanidhi can take up the issue of problems of Tamils in Malaysia with the Malaysian government, if the Hindi channels in Mumbai spew venom against Maharashtra while supporting the people from UP and Bihar, then how come I am dubbed as a goonda when I speak about the self-respect of the state?''
