Mahabharat’s Draupadi in Bhootnath

Juhi Chawla will be playing Anjali Sharma in Ravi Chopra’s Bhoothnath . It is going to be her first film for the Chopa banner. It is quite surprising that in her 20year career, Juhi has never worked with Ravi Chpora or the BR Chopra banner.
It is more surprising to know that Ravi Chopra was the first director who offered her career’s first role in his Mahabharat . According to Juhi after winning Miss India beauty contest in 1984, Juhi got many offers from Bollywood and Television. Ravi Chopra had offered her the role of Draupadi in his mega serial Mahabharata .
She reveals “I have known the Chopra family for many years, even before I entered the industry. Chopra sir had offered me the role of Draupadi in Mahabharat. However it just couldn’t happen and I became Rashmi in Nasir Hussain’s Qyamat Se Qyamat Tak . There was a condition, if I had to accept QSQT, then I cannot appear on television. After that I never had a chance to work with Raviji.”
And now exactly 20 years later she is doing her first film with Ravi Chopra. But meanwhile was there any offer from Ravi Chopra? “Not really... I kept meeting them, visiting them hoping somewhere there would be a break. But now after so many years I have got this film Bhootnath . Finally he gave me a chance to be a part of his film.” she replies.
Juhi will not be seen as a typical mother in Bhootnaath . Her character is easy going and is a fun loving mother, one that she feels is more similar to her real life.
