Karnataka gets new breed of politicians

The forthcoming Karnataka elections are going to witness a new breed of politicians.

Lok Paritran, a party formed by engineers and doctors will be contesting elections in Karnataka for the first time. They say they have a common dream - to work for a better and more prosperous India.

Meet M V Krishna Kumar, a candidate of Lok Paritran, who holds a masters degree from New York University. He knows the power of politics and wants to bring a change in our system. And he's not just talking about it - he's actually contesting.

''We have to stop the exodus of people from rural areas to the city. For this, we need to increase the income of the rural masses,'' he says.

Candidates the party had contested assembly polls in Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. And all of them lost their deposit. But they are still hopeful.

''This time there are ten candidates. Even if one wins, it will start the process of change. What we have promised in our manifesto will be translated into reality,'' says Dr Keshav Kumar, a Lok Paritran candidate.

So it's a contest between beginners with principles and seasoned politicians who might be ready to go to any extent to win an election. May the best candidate win

To keep in mind the welfare of all community in India. It is nessery that one should know his right & duties toward nation. What are the duties of govt. to public? We have started a NGO LWO and the website www.rtiludhiana.com to create awareness among the citizens to use RTI Act to get their work done in the govt. dept. This RTI will bring transperancy and accountability in the bureaucracy.
