According to a new rule in Vaishno Devi shrine, there will be no more jumping the queue for a darshan, even if you have the money or clout.
The shrine board has withdrawn a system that facilitated select pilgrims and allowed them to skip the long queues to the holy caves.
The special treatment had caused a lot of resentment among thousands of devotees.
S K Sinha, Governor, Jammu & Kashmir said, ''People who don't have time, officers, members of the security forces are misusing their position. We have received complaints that the priority slips issued to them are being sold in black. Therefore as an experiment we are trying this out.''
While everyone else waited in long queues, the VIPs, film stars and other important people got past without the long wait.
