A professor of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been nominated for the prestigious Sheikh Zayed Energy Future award.
Hamid Ali of Petroleum Studies Department at AMU is the first person to be nominated for the award, which is named after UAE founder Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, a release said.
The UAE award has been instituted for promotion of development of sustainable energy solutions.
Sheikh Nahyan had donated $ 2 lakh to the varsity to establish an institute of petroleum studies during his visit to AMU in 1975.
