Militants plan to target Kailash Yatra foiled


Jammu (PTI): Security forces have foiled a bid by militants to target Kailash Yatra -scheduled to start from Bhaderwah town of Doda district on Sunday- and recovered three kg of RDX and detonators, official sources said.

During a sanitisation operation, army troops busted a hideout on the route of Kailash Yatra at Ramtandu area and recovered three kg of RDX, one .303 rifle, one AK magazine, 40 rounds, 7 detonators and 30 kg of ration, they said.

The militants had plans of targeting Kailash Yatra which is scheduled to start from Bhaderwah town on Sunday afternoon, they said.

The Kailash Yatra would commence from Bhaderwah town of Doda district and would reach Kailash Kund on September 2. The yatris would instal holy mace of Lord Shiva there.
