Modi has justifed the killing of Sohrabuddin in an encounter

Just days before Gujarat goes to polls, Chief Minister Narendra Modi has played the communal card again. He has justified the killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh in an encounter for which some senior police officials are facing trial.

It seems that the Chief Minister is back in his Hindutva poster boy mode to score political points. Last time, it was "Miyan Musharraf" who helped him win the polls and this time around, it seems as if fake encounter victim, Sohrabuddin Sheikh, will do the trick for Modi.

In a campaign speech in Mangrol, South Gujarat, Modi mentioned the Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case, keeping in mind the polarised electorate in the state.

He said: "Sonia Gandhi speaks of terrorism, but she had no right to. I want to ask Sonia ben, why don't you hang the man accused for the attack on Parliament, Afzal Guru. Sonia ben, what has your government done in Gujarat?"
