Tytler's role to be reinvestigated in 1984 anti-sikh riots case ;Delhi court

A Delhi court has ordered re-investigation into the role of Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in 1984 anti-Sikh riots cases.

The CBI has been ordered to question Jasbir Singh a key witness to Tytler's alleged role in inciting mobs. Singh who is in California told NDTV that he wants the entire nation to hear his statement.

The court has also ordered CBI to submit report by January 15, early next year.

Jagdish Tytler reacted to the decision sating that this is a big conspiracy. He said, ''Lot of discrepancies in Jasbir's statements, he will expose himself when the CBI questions him.

Navkiran singh the counsel for Singh said, ''We welcome today's court decision to order reopening of the case against Tytler. CBI was looking for shortcuts in the case.''

Singh has also agreed testify in the case against Tytler against his security ensured by the authorities. Singh is a witness relating to an incident on November 1, 1984 - when a mob had set afire Gurdwara Pulbangash, killing three people.

Singh's witness came about after prolonged protests by riots victims who had alleged that the CBI was not serious about getting Singh's testimony since it had not asked the court's permission to reinvestigate the case after filing the colsure report three months ago.

Earlier the court hearing the 1984 riots case against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler was told by the CBI that it could not trace Jasbeer Singh.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjeev Jain had given the address of the witness to the CBI, which had filed an affidavit exonerating Jagdish Tytler in the case for lack of evidence and witness.
