Russian found dead in Vagator

Within two months of the gruesome killing of Scarlette Keeling, the Anjuna police are faced with a piquant situation, which is sure to give them a sense of deja vu as they have to unearth the reason behind the death a 28-year-old Russian tourist, Kabanov Valdimir, from Mockobckar city.
Valdimir had arrived since beginning of this month and had checked into a guest house at Vagator on April 11, according to sources.
The police stated that Valdimir was found dead in the guest house on Sunday afternoon.

The police added that the owner of the guesthouse informed them, as he was not able to open the door. The police arrived on the scene and succeeded in opening the door that was locked from inside. On entering inside the deceased was found lying dead inside.
The police said that they would be able to ascertain the cause of death only after the post-mortem was done.
The Anjuna police have registered a case of unnatural death and are not giving any prima facie reasons for his death, especially in view of the Scarlette case aftermath.
Media reports say that the Russian consulate has taken cognizance of the death but will react only after the post-mortem report.
It may be recalled that the Russion envoy had called on the Chief Minister, Mr Digambar Kamat recently and had taken up the deaths of two Russians with him.
The consulates has also appointed a lawyer, Mr Vikram Varma to deal with matters concerned with Russians recently.
