A Congress leader was shot dead by suspected Maoists in Mahaboobnagar district of the state on Saturday, police said.
Three armed extremists opened fire at Panthu Nayak, who was also the President of Amangal Mandal in the district, when he was about to enter in a temple on the outskirts of Amangal town, they said.
Nayak died on the spot, the police said, adding a manhunt has been launched to nab the assailants
